A course to empower children who are going to an Outdoor Education Centre. It will identify their life skills and consolidate their achievements

Introduction
The inspiration for this programme came when we visited several Outdoor Education Centres and saw children dirty, bedraggled, tears running down their beaming faces, and being totally up for anything.

They had just overcome immense physical and emotional challenges in front of their peers, teachers and instructors. We felt that we must capture this incredible high, apply it to life skills that they could use with a more profound effect in their lives. By recording these experiences in a Success Diary they could share these achievements with their parents and retain for future reference.

In addition if we gave them some exercises in preparation prior to their visit to the Centre, they would enjoy the experience and achieve so much more.

Rationale
To allow children to experience an emotional breakthrough of empowerment, by combining physical activity with cognitive development to realise they can achieve.

This course is based on a powerful combination of successful programmes:

1) Cognitive development - building self-esteem and confidence that also enhanced test and assessment performances.

2) Physical challenges - creating emotional breakthroughs as developed by Tony Robbins at his events so successfully, see www.tonyrobbins.com

3) Personal empowerment - that has been incorporated in the Kent County Council training programme for foster carers.

Description of target audience
A year group from a school.

Outline of programme
The course is divided into three parts:

1) School work - a course consisting of 4, one and a half hour sessions to enhance teamwork and self expression

2) Course at outdoor education centre - with supplementary work recording the life skills they had achieved each day in a Success Diary. Also recognising the feelings and emotions experienced and how they could be harnessed to create motivation

3) School work - a course consisting of 4, one and a half hour sessions to build on and reinforce their successes. Plus work to engage with parents/carers

Overall aims
To empower all the participants by building their self worth, self-esteem and self belief, and realising that they can achieve whatever they set their mind too. The children will have overcome a variety of blockages and their successes, motivation and life skills will have been reinforced during this programme.

In addition
To engage the parent/carer in working with the child with a Parent Guide issued at the start and a Success Diary on completion. This course is a proactive approach based on internalising empowerment.

Method of assessment
A Rosenberg self-esteem scale will be used at the beginning and end of the programme, sessions will have self and peer reviews in addition to those by teachers and trainers.

The complete course is provided with all the materials and resources you will need for one off fee of only £29.97 (deliverable by downloadable pdf - 98 pages). See details of our VERY SPECIAL OFFER.
