The pilot of the “Go for Goals” programmme at Ponsonby Intermediate is 4 weeks in and the feedback has been tremendous.  Teachers are singing praises as children are volunteering their positive feedback about the lessons which they are learning in their classes.  Teachers are saying that they cannot actually remember the last time a child actually came up and offered such information about their classes.  Here is an excerpt from Cindy Taylor – Teacher in Charge of Programme at Ponsonby Intermediate.

“…..I overheard one of my boys telling his friend that he had a really great day last Friday. The day started well, he saw two of his favourite cars, he won his lunch time sport game and felt successful throughout the day. I went over to him and asked him about what he had just said. He repeated it, and when I asked him why he thought he had had a great day. He said “it’s because I started the day off with my positive affirmations. Those things really work!” I have also had other teachers tell me about conversations they have overheard with their students that are very similar.”

Since the launch of the Pilot I have now 6 other schools who have expressed keen interest in rolling out a similar Pilot just through “gossip” marketing amongst parents and practitioners.  I have yet to engage in any official marketing or advertising initiative about the programme yet.  This will happen upon completion for a full scale launch next year.

Please visit http://www.generationvibe.org for more information.

I now have 26 practitioners (and growing) all over New Zealand currently undergoing training for the programme in preparation for the launch next year.  There are over 3000 schools in New Zealand and I intend to reach each and every single one of them and then expanding into Asia.  Some people might think my intentions are unrealistic but I believe otherwise because all that is required for any change (small or monumental) is just the creation of a momentum…. and then a shift in collective consciousness.

Alan, this is happening already.  Chris and I have been invited by a network marketing group to tour Malaysia / Singapore in April 2008 to set up a Hub there, replicating what we are doing here in New Zealand.  In planning is a 4-5 city tour of seminars addressing between 200 – 500 people each of a highly targeted audience who are interested in hearing how they can be involved in this whole phenomena and “business” of raising the consciousness of humanity.  There will also be leadership delegates from 5 other countries, namely India, Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia and Hong Kong who are there to take back whatever knowledge they can from this summit to then set up similar operations in their respective countries.

Are we excited? HEAVENS YES!

An update from Sherman

On Tuesday, Robyn Walker and I were observing a classroom of Cindy Taylor (Teacher in Charge of the Pilot) being taught a lesson from The Develop Your Child “Go For Goals” programme in Ponsonby Intermediate and…Gosh what a buzz!  The Kids are positive, happy and freely expressing their creative aspirations.  There are great stories about previously ‘troubled’ kids who are now getting along with their teachers and parents plus hearing some of the thoughts and feelings expressed by the children was also priceless.  Here are some of the comments which were freely expressed by the children during the class;

“I would like to write 3 songs this week”
“I would like to spend some more time with my father and so I can bond with him”
“I would like to do… (a technical term in gymnastics stretching which I could not get) this week”
“I came sixth out of 30 in obedience school with my dog and I was really proud of my dog and had a really good time”

One particular child who we learnt later was really having problems at school and at home with his mother.  He set a goal last week of helping around the house more with mum so they would be happier at home and he said in the class that he cooked for her 3 times this week and his mother was really proud of him.  I could hardly hold back the tears.  For me it reflected a defining moment of how he had 2 paths which he could have taken…I suspect that the path he is on now is quite different to the one he use to be on.

As I watched the classroom buzzing with enthusiasm, I wondered if any of the creative geniuses and interest of the children would have been uncovered if the conditions in classroom were not created for it to happen.  It would have been such a shame if that was the case….wouldn’t it?

We had a great time soaking up the tremendous energy of the classroom especially when it ended with a group affirmation of “I am a beautiful, intelligent, powerful person”.  Firstly, they said it in unison 3 times, then 5 times in silence with their eyes shut and then 3 times shouting and yelling it at the top of their lungs, so loud that it echoed throughout the school and then Cindy said now “stand up on your chairs” and again they screamed it out 3 times.  It was a magical moment and as my heart swelled up, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the gift of experiencing it.
